You take the place of Johnathan as you navigate a Mongolian Digging Cult.. Why would you be doing that you may ask?

The Cult itself is searching for an array of ancient masks deep in the Earth, deep in Mongolia. These masks grant the bearer unimaginable power. The cult, naturally. Wants those masks for themselves to impose their will upon the world and bring back the Mongol empire. Johnathan, your player. Is not noble no, he doesn't care about that. See he's killing the entire cult he was once part of simply because, man. Those masks are cool and he wants them for himself.

Wielding a shotgun and a shovel. You must go through levels of the Earth deeper and deeper down to dismantle the cult from the inside out. You could either run and gun this or take a more stealthy approach. Both of which having their own paths to complete the level itself. And each having their own challenges. The challenge of stealth itself. Or the challenge of more enemies showing up as backup.
